Let me help you decide whether I am the one to call for your painting project.
First of all, I live in Gurley, Alabama, and most of my work is in the Huntsville, AL area (so if you live in California, for example, I’m probably not the painter for you. 🤷♂️)
This has some pros and cons.
PROS
You know exactly who is going to be in your house. I don’t make the sale, then send out a crew of people you don’t know.
I am responsible for the entire project from first contact to final touchup. You know who you will be dealing with for every aspect of your project.
When someone recommends me, they know exactly who they are recommending to a friend, and who will show up at their friend’s house.
CONS
Some jobs need a big crew because there is a big job with a deadline. If you have a job that requires enough people to get in and out to hit your scheduling needs, I might not be the right fit for that job.
If you are wanting to minimize the amount of time a painter will be in your house, a large crew can keep the “intrusion” to a minimum number of days, and sometimes that is important.
I keep my customers informed. A detailed quote will be presented so we can agree on the scope of work, details and price before I start.
Once the project begins, for simple projects, telephone, text and email covers all the basis, and for more complicated projects, I will create a Project Trello Board you will have access to where all the details of the job will be kept for easy reference.
You can be confident that you will know when I am going to show up. I won’t schedule to be there then not show up without communicating with you. I also won’t show up unexpectedly on your doorstep ready to work. I typically let you know a few days before I start, and then call or text when I am heading your direction.
I enjoy paying attention to details. I’ve been that way since I was a boy. I’ve always liked to do things with excellence, and painting is no exception. I like straight lines and consistent finishes. I get an endorphin rush from it, I guess 🤷♂️
While I can adjust the quality of the finish to meet a customer’s needs, and am happy to do that, sometimes a customer is wanting the very cheapest price possible and a “blow and go” process because the finish isn’t very important. That isn’t a great fit for me. I don’t try to be the cheapest because I really like doing quality work.
I have a long list of references. People who have had me in their home to do painting projects or remodeling projects (interior remodeling was what I did for a couple of decades before I decided to focus on painting exclusively 2 years ago). If you don’t already know me or someone who I have done a project for, please feel free to ask me for my references so you can rest assured that I do quality work and keep my word.
As the husband of one fantastic wife and a dad to 4 kiddos, I work hard to keep life balanced. What does this mean for you and your project? It typically means that you can expect me during “work hours”…I won’t typically show up really, really early in the morning, and I try to knock off work at a reasonable hour so I can go home and eat supper with my family. I occasionally do work on Saturdays, but try to focus my work times to Monday-Friday. This gives me time with my family, and also, if you have a family, it helps you to keep your normal schedule without as much disruption. Sometimes a job, a deadline, or the weather force my hand, and I have to move my schedule around, but generally speaking I will be at your job during normal work hours.
